I Don’t Think I Can Do It.

“I don’t think I can do it.”

How often do we say this? I’d argue that it’s waaaaay more often than we even realize. We can limit ourselves so automatically that we can find ourselves wondering if this is truly the life we want to be living or if life has just sort of…happened to us.

It doesn’t have to be that way. Even if we feel stuck, it doesn’t ever have to be that way, I promise. And I know, because I thought that life was one whole way and I now live a whole, completely different way.

And I created that.

And you can, too, if you’re not where you want to be.

I hear limiting beliefs a lot in my work; people concerned that they just don’t have what it takes to succeed with a lifestyle change.

But as Henry Ford reminds us, whether we think we can or we can’t do something, either way we are right! Have you ever been doing something and said to yourself, “You can do it!” and you’ve pushed through the resistance? I know I have. And it feels soooo good to do that. And I have also said to myself, “Ugh! I can’t do it!” and I have failed to do that thing–even though, deep inside, I knew I could have done it if I’d tried a little harder, pushed a little more, worked a little smarter, ignored the nay-sayers in my own mind.

You guys, if I had believed my own bullshit every time, I swear, I’d still be drinking, eating like crap, working a job I wasn’t passionate about, in relationships that weren’t serving my greater good, and generally living a half-life.

But something had to change. A whole lot of things, really, but one at a time, I faced obstacles and challenged my own self-doubt and I’ve been able to create a life that feels like HOME to me.

And I want nothing more than to inspire others to know that no matter what, they, too, can achieve anything they want in life! I have worked at it–for YEARS–and I still don’t have everything I want. There is no “perfect”. There are career goals I have yet to achieve. Fitness goals I want to crush. Self-care practices I want to explore. Travel destinations I’ve yet to visit and adventures I still have to cross off my bucket list. But as long as I believe it is POSSIBLE for my life, I know I can create it–with effort and over time.

The same is true for all of us. God/Universe/Source/Creation/All didn’t bring us here to just be born, pay bills and die!!! I keep talking about it because it is the TRUTH.

That is NOT why we are here.

So, whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right.

Perhaps it’s time to try a new way of thinking on for size. Maybe you’re finally ready to dip your toe in the water and see how it feels. Perhaps it’s a class you want to try, a new skill you want to learn, a person you’d like to meet, a career you’d like to explore, a destination you’d like to visit. Maybe it’s a way of being that you would like access to.

Personally, I have been doing a lot of inner child work and it has changed me in profound ways. I have healed parts of me that I’d thought were healed and weren’t. I’ve forgiven and made peace with people who I thought I’d always be caught in a cycle with. I’ve challenged myself to go deep within to pull out some pain so that I can explore it and engage with it…so I can heal it and move forward with more lightness and peace.

It’s been an incredible journey and I want everyone to know that no matter what you want to see change in your life, everything we want is on the other side of our comfort zones. Doing the work I have over the years has not always been easy! In fact, it’s been incredibly painful at times. But any change takes effort. Any change takes a decision. And it takes surrendering to the knowledge that what we are doing isn’t leading us to where we want to go. Rather, it is holding us back.

And so, we have to change.

It is NORMAL to have fear. It is NORMAL to think we can’t do it. It is NORMAL to live within our comfort zones. It is NORMAL to let our dreams die inside of us.

But NORMAL isn’t what those who succeed are looking for! F*CK normal! SERIOUSLY! IF we want to TRULY make changes in our lives, then we have to step away from what we NORMALLY do and do things DIFFERENTLY.

But we have doubt!

But we have failed!

But we feel like success is for other people!

We find ourselves believing that others–the ones who succeed in areas we want to succeed–are smarter, stronger, richer, have better circumstances, deal with different issues than we do, and the excuses compound until we are bogged down by the heaviness of their weight.

Change is hard. We don’t like it.

Habits are easy.

But GUESS WHAT? We can create NEW habits that WILL feel easy….but it takes a plan. It takes strategies. It takes leadership. It takes accountability. It takes support. It takes effort. And it takes time.

If the change you want to see is wrapped around your relationship with food, weight, your body and your outlook on life, then I invite you to consider joining me and 8 others on a journey within.

I only have 4 spots left in my new group coaching program, and I would love to serve you, if you feel called. I want to provide you with the plans, the strategies, the leadership, the accountability and the support. And we have 3 months to start changing the course of your life. We start September 4th. Join me, if this speaks to you, so that we can set you up for a lifetime of success.

No matter what you are struggling to change, know that there is someone out there who has been where you are. Please share with me, and I will do my best to point you in the direction of people and resources that can help.

Because you CAN do it. Even if you feel resistance.
