Pressing PAUSE.

Recently, I was interviewed by my dear friend Anita Brown and her amazing co-host, Jill Johns. Together, they run The Pause Button 2.0 podcast, where they help people upgrade their self-care. They have also just opened registration for their brand new online course called “The Upleveler“, designed to help you create important shifts in your life, if you’ve found yourself falling to the bottom of the list. Visit their website for more info and to register.

I first met Anita in a secret Facebook group we now both moderate, and she became a student of mine last year in my One Bite At A Time (OBAAT) Group Coaching Program, so I was overjoyed to be invited on her podcast as a guest. So overjoyed was I, that after listening to it, I practically needed to take a nap!! I speak quickly, I talk a LOT and I probably over-share, but what I have come to learn is that whenever I say “yes” to opportunities to share more of myself and my story, I find I connect with more people who reach out saying, in one form or another, “Thanks for sharing. Me, too.”

It’s for that reason that I continue to dig in deeper and deeper into my own story, history, patterns, beliefs and habits, so that I can consistently raise my awareness about the way I am showing up–for myself and for others. Here is the link to the episode, if you’d like to take a listen.

I will also say that I learn something new and connect more deeply with the hosts in every single one of their episodes, so I hope you’ll carve out a little time to upgrade YOUR self-care by learning from these two amazing women. They tackle the BIG topics others tend to shy away from, and THIS ep was one of my all-time faves simply because of the way I can literally feel Anita’s resolve around being more purposeful with her time, “calling BS” on her time management story. Note that this episode tackles the use of technology, and Anita shares about her two young boys’ behaviour around it as a way to shine a major light on what is happening–both in front of and behind closed doors–in so many families. It’s an eye-opening, real and raw episode, and Jill does a beautiful job of holding space, reassuring Anita, and sharing her own stance and thoughts on the subject, as well. If you are a parent and worried about your kids’ use of technology, then I urge you to listen.

They are ALL great episodes, so I hope you add The Pause Button 2.0. to your podcast rotation! I am deeply grateful to Anita and Jill for asking me to be a part of it. Towards the end of my interview–at about 52 minutes–Anita shares honestly about her initial thoughts of me. I truly appreciated her sharing because, while we all experience this kind of judgment, what’s unusual is when people are honest about it. I really respect that, and she also shares her feelings around her experience being a student in my OBAAT program. If you’ve been on the fence about joining, I hope Anita’s thoughts might inspire you, too, to take a leap of faith and join us. There is still time in this round if you’d like to join us.
