Your OWN Truth.

For this week’s blog post, I am simply sharing this beautiful offering by my oldest, dearest, most trusted mentor, Oprah Winfrey. She begins with a poem called Phenomenal Woman, by her beloved mother-sister-friend, Maya Angelou, and I swear she channeled Maya in that moment, as her voice is so akin to hers.

Since I was a teen, Oprah has been a guiding light, a voice of reason, a gentle salve, a beacon of hope and of course, a teller of truths. She’s inspired me simply by being her real, true, authentic self and showing me that that’s all I’ve ever needed to be.

ME.

She’s shown me that owning and sharing my dark helps me experience more light. She’s shown me that trying to be anything or anyone but myself is how I abandon my innate gifts and talents, and how doing so dims my own light and also others’.

She’s been a woman I respect and admire greatly and I’ve loved her deeply for over 30 years. I went to see her speak a few years ago and it was a powerful experience, just being in her energy.

During a time in history when we are all struggling, I want her words to fill us up and remind us of the beauty and magic that lives inside each and every one of us.

Here is the link to listen immediately.

Because I want you to love your life one bite at a time.
