Revealing My REAL Age

Yesterday, I celebrated my birthday. I don’t know about you, but I see getting older as a privilege. I see it as a privilege to continue to live and breathe and have the chance to do something with my life that I can feel proud of.

I am on a mission and I am excited about where my life is going.

It certainly wasn’t always this way and so it is thrilling to know I am on a path that is taking me closer to where I want to be in my life.

I am finally doing the work.

And it has taken time and experience and lessons learned for me to be at this place now. I feel like an onion and a tree at the same time. An onion has layer upon layer that can be peeled away. Peeling away my layers helps me get closer to who I really am. All this layer-peeling is helping me to know myself better, love myself stronger, trust myself deeper.

And as I peel away the layers, I feel like I continue to stretch and grow, like the limbs of a tree. I feel my trunk widening and strengthening as I get more comfortable with who I am and I feel more deeply rooted wherever I stand as I unfold into the person I am meant to be.

While my birth certificate may say that I am 44 years old now, I have begun to realize that the number means far less than what I am doing and how I am being each and every moment of my life.

Going On CTV

I have pushed myself a lot in the last year. I plan to do more to challenge myself in the coming year.

With that in mind, I wanted to share this moment with you. I went on CTV to talk about The 28 Day Kick The Sugar Challenge. I thought you might find it interesting if you missed the segment.

Without the time to stretch and grow, I wouldn’t be where I am today and I wouldn’t be going where I’m headed. We are aging every moment we are alive, and so if you are someone who resists aging, I encourage you to shift the paradigm. I believe that when we change our attitude around aging and realize that while we may not be able to stop the clock, we have the power to decide how we will feel about ourselves; what we will do with our time; what we will focus our attention on, how we will treat our bodies, then we become healthier, happier and more at peace with ourselves.

And that’s big.

That’s huge.

Being more proud of myself and feeling more comfortable in my skin has changed everything for me.

My 44 year old skin.

Life happens in moments.

I don’t want to waste them or take them for granted.

I want to make them count.

I want the same for you.

Because I want you to love your life one bite at a time.
